How to gently remove face paint after a party
If you would rather book a painter: from 500,000₫ an hour.

Start with what the artist used
Different face paints come off differently, so ask the artist what product was used and how they suggest removing it. As a general rule, go gently. Most children don't enjoy a long scrubbing session at bath time, and rubbing hard is rarely the answer.
Gentle removal steps for kids' skin
Removing face paint doesn't need harsh scrubbing, exfoliants or hot water. Here is a gentle method that suits many families:
- Wet a soft washcloth or cotton pad with lukewarm (not hot) water
- Apply a small amount of mild soap or a baby-friendly cleanser directly onto the cloth
- Gently press and wipe the paint in small circular motions, never scrubbing or dragging the skin
- Rinse the cloth often and repeat until most of the colour lifts away
- Pat the skin dry with a soft towel and follow with a light, fragrance-free moisturiser
Avoid rough sponges, nail brushes or scrubbing pads, as these can irritate delicate skin, especially around the eyes, nose and mouth. If your child has sensitive skin or eczema, tell the artist before the event, try a small area first, and ask your doctor if you are unsure.

Dealing with glitter and stubborn spots
Glitter accents and metallic details add sparkle to party designs, but they can cling on longer than the base paint. For these spots, use a gentle, alcohol-free makeup-remover wipe to dab, not rub, at glittery areas. Follow with a quick rinse of soap and water to remove any residue.
If a small trace of glitter remains near the hairline or eyebrows after the first clean, don't worry. It will usually come off with the next hair wash or bath, and there's no need to keep scrubbing at it.

How long does face paint last before it needs removing? It depends on the product, the design and how much your child sweats or rubs their face. Ask the artist what to expect for your event.
What about young children and sensitive skin? We can't promise any paint suits every child. Tell us about sensitive skin or eczema when you enquire, and remove paint gently with mild soap and lukewarm water.
