When a boy thinks face paint is for girls

Some boys shake their head the moment they hear face painting, because they think it is a game for girls. A few gentle things you can try:

• Call it dressing up as a character or putting on a mask, instead of face painting.
• Show him photos of other boys who have been painted and ask which one he likes.
• Let him choose the design; do not choose for him.
• Let him try a design on the back of the hand first, and stop if he is still shy.

Nothing works for every child. If he still says no, let him watch his friends and do not push.

Superheroes and Spider-Man

This is one of the larger groups in our gallery. There is a photo of a boy with a red Spider-Man face, one with a red spider face, and one with only the eye area painted in Spider-Man style. Bat masks come in two colours, orange sunset and black.

Which one to pick is up to him. A boy who wants to become the character fully can choose the red Spider-Man face. A boy who likes it but feels shy can choose just the Spider-Man eyes, or a bat mask. Tell us the character he loves and the artist can suggest colours.

Tigers, pirates and other designs

What if he likes tigers or other animals? Our gallery has a photo of a boy with an orange tiger face, so show him that first. If your son loves tigers, message the artist and ask what can be painted.

Other designs with photos of boys: a pirate with an eye patch, and a small pumpkin on the cheek, which suits a Halloween party or a boy who likes something cute. The pirate is another option for a boy who wants a tough look without being a superhero.

If he does not want a full face

Not every boy wants his whole face covered in colour. A few lighter routes:

• Only the eye area, Spider-Man style.
• A small pumpkin on the cheek.
• A pirate eye patch.
• A design on the back of the hand.

Letting him choose before the party

Children can choose a design before you book. Sit with your son and scroll through the gallery, let him point to the one he likes, and send us that design. When you know the design in advance, you avoid the moment where he stands in front of the artist with no idea what to pick.

For birthday parties, we estimate that each artist paints about 10 to 15 faces per hour, depending on the design. Our prices are public: 500,000₫ for 1 hour and 900,000₫ for 2 hours, with longer bookings negotiated separately. Quick answers about face painting for boys

My son only wants something small. Is that fine? Yes. Choose the Spider-Man eyes, a small pumpkin on the cheek, or a design on the back of the hand.

What if he wants a tiger? Message the artist first. Our gallery has a photo of a boy with an orange tiger face he can look at first.

What if he changes his mind in the chair? That is fine. Show him the photos again, switch to a smaller design, or let him watch a friend first.
