Tet face painting ideas for kids work best when they are small, bright and easy to recognise, such as apricot blossom, peach blossom or a little red envelope. To be clear, these are suggestions. The designs below are ideas to talk through with the artist before the party.
Small bright designs for the children at Tet
Red and gold are the familiar colours of Tet, so they are an easy place to start. You can ask the artist about directions like these:
- A small yellow apricot blossom on the cheek.
- A peach blossom branch or a few pink petals at the corner of the eye.
- A little red envelope on the back of the hand.
- A touch of gold or red added to a design your child already loves.
If your child wears an ao dai or new clothes for Tet, a small design on the hand or cheek is easier to match with an outfit than a full mask. If your child loves an animal or a character, keep that favourite and simply change the colours to suit the mood. When to ask about dates around Tet
Lunar New Year in 2027 falls in early February on the solar calendar. Please check the calendar for the exact day.
Around Tet, family and office schedules can differ from a normal week, so days and hours can differ too. Message us the exact day and we will check the calendar and reply. The surest way is to message us on Zalo as soon as you know your date, and ask about that exact day. If your party is early in the year, pick a start time when most guests have already arrived, so the painting does not have to wait.
Early-year parties in apartment blocks and offices: how many artists
We estimate that each artist paints about 10 to 15 faces per hour, depending on the design. To see how many artists you need, divide the expected number of children by 10 to 15 to get the hours for one person. If the party is short and the guest list long, add artists. Large events can have up to 5 artists.

What to prepare at the painting table
Prepare 1 table and 2 chairs. If you are outdoors, choose a shaded spot. If it rains, we move indoors. A few small tips for Tet:
- Put the table near the entrance so the queue does not block guests.
- Tell us in advance if a child has sensitive skin; we cannot promise every colour suits every child.
- Let children pick a design beforehand so the session moves faster.
- Send the start time and the expected number of children ahead of time.
