Mid-Autumn festival ideas for apartment communities
If you would rather book a painter: from 500,000₫ an hour.

The best Mid-Autumn festival ideas for apartment communities tend to be compact: a shared courtyard, many children, a short time window, and a face painting station in the right spot. This guide is for building management and resident committees: laying out the station in the courtyard, working out artists for 50 or 100 children, fitting it around the lantern walk and cake handout, and asking about dates early.
A station in the courtyard: tables, chairs, shade
The courtyard is usually where children already gather, so a station there draws them in. Building management provides 1 table and 2 chairs, and with several artists, ask us how many more are needed. A few things to plan:
- Pick a shaded spot if you are outdoors. If it rains, the station moves indoors, so look at a lobby or community room as the backup.
- Keep the table off the vehicle lane and the main walkway so the queue does not block residents.
- Put out waiting chairs for children and parents, especially those carrying small ones.
- Tell us before booking if a child has sensitive skin. We cannot promise every colour suits every child, so add a line about it to the sign-up form.
Children can choose a design before booking, so management can ask the young residents what they like. A child who does not want a face design can have one painted on the hand. For building rules on courtyard use, speakers or quiet hours, ask the management office directly.

How many artists for 50 or 100 children
The figure to plan with is an estimate: each artist paints roughly 10 to 15 faces an hour, depending on the design. The formula: children, divided by 10 to 15, divided by the hours. We send up to 5 artists for a large event.
- 50 children in 1 hour: 50 divided by 10 to 15 gives about 3.3 to 5, so plan for 4 to 5 artists
- 50 children in 2 hours: about 2 to 3 artists
- 100 children in 2 hours: about 4 to 5 artists
- 100 children in 1 hour: more than 5 artists, above our maximum, so open for 2 hours
Not every child will queue, but if you do not know how many will come, planning from the full headcount is the surest approach. Public prices are 500,000₫ for 1 hour and 900,000₫ for 2 hours; see the pricing page. For several artists or more than 2 hours, send your details for a specific quote. The longer method is in how many face painters your event needs.
Fitting it around the lantern walk and cake handout
Apartment Mid-Autumn events usually include a lantern walk and a cake handout. Open the painting station before both, so children carry lanterns with their designs already on and the photos look better. A suggested order:
- Open the painting station when children start coming down
- Hand out queue numbers so children can play and return on their turn
- Hold the lantern walk around the courtyard once most children are painted
- Hand out cakes at the end, when the painting queue has thinned
- Take a group photo of the residents
The lantern walk and cake handout are for management to run. If you want acts between turns, we have a partner circus and magic team at 800,000₫ per hour, and a bubble show. See seasonal designs on the festival and holiday face painting page. Photos of an outdoor event with children seated around a table are in our gallery.

When Mid-Autumn falls: ask about dates early
The Gregorian date of Mid-Autumn changes every year. Check the calendar before fixing the day, then message us early, since many places hold events around this time. Message us early so we can check the calendar.
Please send: date and time, district or area, courtyard or indoors, expected number and ages of children, and hours wanted. We take bookings from District 7 and District 2, and events across Vietnam. If your building is in District 7, read about face painting in District 7. Message Zalo 0908 980 603 for a quote.
FAQ: Mid-Autumn in apartment communities
Can a building outside District 7 book? Yes. We take events across Vietnam.
Can children have a design on the hand only? Yes. We paint faces and hands, so a child who does not want a face design can choose the hand.
