School fair ideas for international schools in Saigon
If you would rather book a painter: from 500,000₫ an hour.

School fair ideas for international schools work best when the parents' committee agrees what the fair is for before it picks a single stall. This guide is for committees planning stalls in Ho Chi Minh City: food, games, crafts and a face painting stall, with a simple way to work out how many artists you need. The stalls other than face painting are suggestions for your volunteers to run, and they are not our service. We offer face painting, plus partner teams for circus, magic or a bubble show.
Decide what the fair is for
A fair can raise money, bring families together, or do both. The answer shapes everything else: how many stalls you need, whether children pay at each stall, and how the money is collected.
How a fair collects and uses money is the school's decision. Ask the school office which methods it allows, such as cash, tickets or a bank transfer. The same applies to the face painting stall. Our price is the hourly booking price on our pricing page, and the school decides if your stall charges children.

Stalls that run themselves
Some stalls need one helper and little else. Ideas for your volunteers to organise:
- A food table where each family brings a dish
- A guess the number of items in the jar game
- A colouring or bookmark table with paper and pens
Put a card with its name next to each dish.
A face painting stall: how many artists
This is the one stall where the number of painters matters, so it helps to plan early. Our estimate is that one artist paints about 10 to 15 faces an hour, depending on the design. Here is the maths for 100 children across a 2 hour fair:
- 100 children over 2 hours is 50 children an hour.
- 50 divided by 15 is about 3.3, and 50 divided by 10 is 5.
- So plan for 4 to 5 artists.
We bring up to 5 artists. If your fair has more children than a team can paint, use quicker designs on the hand, such as the pumpkin and ghosts, the colourful fish or the pink pig you can see in our photo gallery, or book a longer window. Bookings longer than 2 hours are agreed separately. Message us with the number of children and the length of the fair, and we will suggest a team size and confirm the price. We need a table and two chairs, and a shaded spot if the stall is outside. For more on team size, see how many face painters your event needs.

Keeping queues moving
A long queue can slow a face painting stall. A few habits keep it moving:
- Use a sign up sheet or numbered tickets, so children can visit other stalls and come back.
- Put a menu board of designs at the front. Choosing from a board is quicker than deciding in the chair.
- Offer simple designs on the hand for the busiest stretch. Simple designs usually go faster than full faces.
- Pass any sensitive-skin concerns on to us when you book.

Rain plan and helpers
Ask the school which indoor space the fair can move to if the weather turns. If it rains, we move the face painting indoors, so a covered or indoor corner for the stall helps a lot.
Recruit a few parent volunteers for the face painting stall: one to manage the sign up sheet, one to keep the line tidy, and one to keep water within reach. Our team can talk in English or Vietnamese.
FAQ: school fair face painting
Who sets the price per child at the stall? The school or committee decides whether to charge and how. Our price is the hourly booking price: 500,000₫ for 1 hour and 900,000₫ for 2 hours.
Can the stall run longer than two hours? Yes. Longer bookings are agreed separately, so tell us the opening hours.
